Guide to obtaining a copy of the estate

Instructions for quickly requesting a copy of your estate

The copy of the inheritance declaration is the official document certifying the submission of the inheritance to the Revenue Agency. It contains all the tax and financial information submitted by the declarant, along with the electronic receipt and transcription note, which are essential to demonstrate that the procedure has been correctly registered.

This document is frequently requested by banks, notaries, public offices, and social security institutions, as it certifies that the heirs have fulfilled the tax obligations required by law.

A copy can be requested by the heirs, their legal representatives, or the professionals responsible for managing the procedure.

Here is the guide to requesting a copy of successions online through the Agenzia delle Successioni.

How to obtain a copy of the Inheritance declaration?

The Agenzia delle Successioni can handle the entire procedure, obtaining the official copy on your behalf from the Revenue Agency, even if you don't know the competent office or don't have complete information about your case.

Form 240 is one of the forms that can be used for this type of request, but it is not mandatory. The application can also be submitted without a form, as long as it contains the necessary information. Form 240 is a request form. It is used to request copies or certifications from the Revenue Agency. It does not contain information about your inheritance. It's just an administrative tool.

The copy of the inheritance declaration is the actual tax document, the one that banks and offices require. Contains:

  • heirs' information
  • list of assets
  • taxes paid
  • transcription note
  • electronic receipt

This is the document that proves that the inheritance has been filed.

Who can request a copy of the inheritance?

Requesting a copy of the inheritance can be simple, but not always. Often the competent office is unknown, the declarant cannot be contacted, or the inheritance was filed many years ago.

The Agenzia delle Successioni is responsible for identifying the correct office, submitting the formal request, retrieving the complete and certified copy, delivering it in digital or paper format, and managing any additions or additional research.

In addition to the copy of the inheritance, the Agenzia delle Successioni can handle the procurement of registry certificates, civil status records, and tax documents necessary for the complete management of the inheritance and administrative procedures.

Consult the complete list of documents obtainable with a single proxy, easily, compliant with regulations, and entirely digitally.
