Guide to obtaining bank and current account information

Guide to obtaining bank and current account information

Instructions for quickly requesting bank and current account information

Bank balance is an official document certifying the presence and amount of active accounts held or jointly held by a specific individual at credit institutions or financial intermediaries.

The document lists the banks and branches where the accounts are held, the nature of the accounts (current accounts, deposits, passbooks, securities), the balances as of the reference date, and any transactions relevant for inheritance or tax purposes.

Bank balance is fundamental in succession practices, as it allows for the determination of the hereditary assets and the correct distribution of the assets.

See below for the guide to requesting bank balance and current accounts online through the Agenzia delle Successioni.

How to recover bank and current account balances?

With the Agenzia delle Successioni, you can obtain your bank balance directly online, without having to contact each individual credit institution.

The service is intended for heirs who require an official verification of the banking relationships of a deceased or living individual.

  1. Download the forms available at the bottom of the page (Delegation and Privacy Policy).
  2. Fill them out and sign them , specifying “bank balance and current accounts” as the type of document required.
  3. Send the documentation to the email address segreteria@agenziadellesuccessioni.it , attaching:
